Material and structural prototypes for the skirt.
Beginning to form the skirt using layered yarn on a beach ball armature.
A rig was designed to allow the yarn to be dipped and applied to the ball in a more efficient process.
Sample prints using UV reactive dye on knit fabric were created using layered yarn skirt fabric from a test iteration. Once the right color and exposure times were achieved, final prints could be made.
Because the fabric printing required a certain amount of sun exposure, printing had to be done according to the weather, and in some rather interesting locations!
